For the first time Social Education Victoria is offering a program of student lectures to support the teaching of Sociology, Units 3 and 4. Three engaging speakers will present on a range of topics relevant to the Sociology course and have been chosen to broaden your understanding and thinking.

The lectures will be held on May 22 between 1pm – 3pm. The venue is centrally located at the Iwaki Auditorium, ABC Centre, Cnr Sturt St & Southbank Blvd, South Melbourne.

The guest speakers include:
*Australian Communities
- Janette Pope, Manager Research, Policy & Strategy,
- Department of Planning and Community Development
* The Rights of Australia’s Indigenous Communities
- Peter Lewis, Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency, VACCA
* Citizenship
- Speaker to be confirmed

The lecture program has again been designed to allow you an opportunity to ask questions of each of the speakers, to allow for as many questions as possible in the allocated time.

It is essential that you book early as we expect these lectures will be very popular and that places will fill quickly.

The cost is $18. As the lectures take place when we usually have Sociology, I would like to attend the lectures instead of class. If you can not afford the $18 please let me know.
